We are excited to partner with Mad March Inc., a leading mountain bike coaching and certification company for the 2010 event. Many of our instructors will be newly certified BeIMIC (International Mountain Bike Instructor Certification) coaches and guides!
The Midwest Women's Mountain Bike Clinic is not focused with the racer in mind, but techniques and skills learned can easily be applied on the racing field. Groups are split according to skill level and each group will work on the key fundamentals of mountain biking such as basic body position, bike-body separation, bike handling and more. Participants work on learning and improving techniques for body position, climbing and descending, cornering, rock and log obstacles, water crossings, switchbacks and more.
Ask and you shall receive! With so much great feedback over the years, we want you to know we're listening! We are taking the time to make sure participants are prepared as mountain bikers when hitting the trail. Small workshops will be available for fixing flats and broken chains, how to pack and what to carry, and much more. In 2010, we will be spending more time evaluating riders to make sure groups are of similar riding ability before hitting the trails.
The Trail Education Class began in 2008 and continues to be a key part of the Midwest Women's Mountain Bike Clinic. Participants get to see first hand what goes into building and maintaining a mountain bike trail while learning about advocacy and trail safety. We take this opportunity to discuss shared trails and interactions with other user groups and explain the IMBA Rules of the Trail.

The 2010 clinic will also include the 3rd Annual Naked Lady Party. This is a chance for clinic participants to finally get ride of those bike clothes that no longer fit or find something new to try. Bring any gently used cycling apparel or gear (jerseys, shorts, gloves, helmets, shoes, etc) and everyone will get a chance to pick up an item to take home. Many new riders are able to get gear to start, while other are able to find the jersey of their dreams! Remember, what's not your style anymore might be right up someone else's alley.

Dude's Abide Ride on Sunday during the women's clinic. This casual paced ride will keep the fellas occupied by hitting the trails with local riders for a tour of the Brown County State Park mountain bike trail system. Check the Event Schedule for start time and meeting location.
